Who we are
DadBodsFFC runs DadBods (Monday strength and conditioning at 5One Fitness) and FFC (Wednesday football fitness at the Silverlands) in Buxton, Derbyshire. In this policy, "we" and "us" means DadBodsFFC.
We're responsible for the personal information described here. For anything about your data, email hello@dadbodsffc.com.
What we collect and why
When you visit this website
There are no accounts, forms or tracking tools on this site, and we don't use analytics. Everything, including fonts and photos, is served from our own website. Two things to know:
- Hosting. The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, its servers record basic technical details such as your IP address, browser and the pages requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- Maps. The DadBods and FFC pages can show a Google Map of the venue. It only loads if you accept cookies, because Google sets cookies when it does. See our cookie policy.
Our lawful basis for hosting is our legitimate interests in running a working, secure website. For maps it's your consent, which you can withdraw at any time on the cookie policy page.
When you get in touch
If you message us on WhatsApp or Instagram, or email us, we'll see your name, your phone number, Instagram handle or email address, and whatever you write. We use it to reply, answer your questions and get you booked onto a session.
Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in responding to you and running the club.
WhatsApp groups
Regulars can join our WhatsApp groups, which we use for session updates, cancellations and general chat. If you join, other members of the group can see your name and phone number. You can leave a group at any time.
Injuries and health
If you tell Shaun about an injury or health condition, we only use it to adapt your training so you can take part safely. Health information is a special category of data, so we rely on your explicit consent: you choose whether to tell us, and you can ask us to forget it at any time. We don't write it down or share it unless you ask us to, or in an emergency where it's needed to protect you.
Photos
We sometimes take photos at sessions, walks and socials and share them on Instagram and this website. If you'd rather not be photographed, just say so. If you're in a photo we've shared and want it taken down, message us and we'll remove it.
Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in showing what the club is like, balanced against your right to say no.
Testimonials
Quotes from members appear on this website with their permission, shown with a first name and initial. Ask us at any time and we'll take yours down.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information or use it for advertising. It's only handled by the services that make the club and the website work:
- Netlify, which hosts this website
- Google, for the venue maps, only if you accept cookies
- Meta, which runs WhatsApp and Instagram, when you use them to talk to us
- our email provider, when you email us
When you use WhatsApp, Instagram or Google Maps, their own privacy policies apply to what they collect.
We'd only share anything else if the law required it.
Transfers outside the UK
Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, the United States and other countries. Where that happens, they rely on the legal safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK–US data bridge or the UK's approved contract clauses.
How long we keep it
- Messages stay in our WhatsApp, Instagram or email for as long as they're useful for arranging sessions. We clear out conversations we no longer need.
- Injury and health information is kept only for as long as it's relevant to your training.
- Photos and testimonials stay up until you ask us to remove them, or until we take them down.
- Website logs are kept by Netlify for a short period under its own retention policy.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that's wrong
- ask us to delete your information
- object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it
- ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it
To use any of these, email hello@dadbodsffc.com or tell Shaun. We'll reply within one month.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first and we'll try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
